1:1 EBSA SUPPORT SERVICE
At Ascend Pro Services, we provide one-on-one support to children and young people of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages who are experiencing challenging behaviour and emotional based school avoidance (EBSA).Our aim is to work in partnership with schools, families, and other relevant professionals to reduce the number of children and young people being absent from school due to Emotional Based School Avoidance and support their successful reintegration back into mainstream education.
OUR APPROACH
Before embarking on intervention, we conduct a thorough individualized assessment of the student's individual needs and the factors contributing to their school avoidance.Based on the assessment,an EBSA support plan is developed through a key consultation process involving the student, school, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
We work closely with schools, families, and other professionals to implement strategies and interventions to address the underlying issues contributing to school avoidance,.This involves building coping skills, building a positive and supportive relationships.,helping student overcome their emotional barriers and develop strategies for managing their attendance,planning and facilitating the student's return to school, ensuring a safe and gradual transition back into mainstream education.
EBSA support plan is continually monitored and adjusted, as needed, through regular planned reviews, consistent communication, realistic goal setting, and ongoing collaboration between the student, school, parents and other professionals. This will involve assessing what is working well and identifying any aspects that need changing, with a focus on building on the positives.
