EBSA SUPPORT SERVICES
I provide early intervention and individualised support tailored to the unique needs of each student experiencing challenging behaviour and emotional-based school avoidance (EBSA). My aim is to work in collaboration with schools, families, and other relevant professionals to support the reintegration of children into school, address and resolve the underlying issues that cause a child to resist attending school, while promoting their academic engagement and overall well-being.

APPROACH
Before any engagement, a comprehensive needs analysis is conducted to gain an understanding of the root cause such as emotional factors, academic concerns, social issues that may be causing and maintaining the EBSA behaviours.Based on these assessments, an EBSA support plan is created through a key consultation process involving the young person, their school, parents/carers, and other relevant professionals.Working in partnership with school, parents and all other related professionals we address the identified needs of the child or young person, both at home and school, ensuring that strategies effectively target the unique challenges. This process includes implementing an individualised plan linked to the factors identified through assessment as contributing to EBSA, and intervening at both the school and home levels with a range of strategies. The EBSA support plan is continually monitored and adjusted, as needed, through regular planned reviews, consistent communication, realistic goal setting, and ongoing collaboration between the child or young person, parents and other professionals. This will involve assessing what is working well and identifying any aspects that need changing, with a focus on building on the positives.
